Even High Earners Often Live Paycheck to Paycheck

Only 5.4% of Americans make $100k or more. Yet, according to Why Upper-Middle Earners Are Living Paycheck to Paycheck, almost 1/5 of them are living paycheck to paycheck. Why? I think it’s more than just the high cost of housing and education; I think many of us are lacking some basic financial skills that, if we develop, will get us out of this hole.

When we began looking at finances from a daily, weekly and monthly standpoint, instead of just a bi-weekly or annual view, we began to see a shift in our understanding of how finances work. For example, did you know that if you have a $100k annual income you make $274 every day of the year? That’s a lot of money.

How is our $ allocated?

We wanted to afford our ‘Top 3 Dreams’, but didn’t know how much money we could responsibly allocate for them.
