cherriesgreen-apple-sliced

(November 28, 2008) — Family life gets crazy around the holidays, and kids can get out of their bathroom routine. A new study finds childhood constipation is much more than an inconvenience – it’s a common, sometimes serious medical problem that costs nearly billion each year to treat. That’s equal to major chronic illnesses like asthma and ADHD. We have some important tips for parents to help treat or prevent the problem before it gets serious. … > full story

OUR COMMENTS

Motto:  “If it goes in, it must come out!”

  • If you eat one full meal a day, you should have one full bowel movement a day.  (2 meals, 2 movements, etc.)
  • Ideally, BMs should float, clean easily (not liquid, sticky or hard), and not smell too odorous.
  • If you don’t have the ‘ideal BM’, you can increase fiber, herbs and alkalinity.

Fiber

  • helps digestion
  • eases constipation,
  • cleanses bowel, blood and arteries.

Herb Lax

  • strengthens intestinal muscle action
  • cleanses intestine and blood
  • increases nutrient absorption
  •

    Alfalfa

    • increases alkalinity of cellular system
    • enzymes help digest food in the stomach before it enters the intestine
    • natural body deodorizer

alfalfa – cholesterol, allergies, blood sugar, arthritis

    Alfalfa, the king of plants

    • reduces cholesterol
    • reduces blood sugar levels
    • enzymes break down food
    • thins mucas (sinus, intestinal)
    • alleviates allergies / congestion
    • promotes liver health
    • detoxifies the body
    • relieve pain and stiffness of arthritis/bursitis
    • anti-cancer activity because of isoflavone/phytoestrogens content
    • alleviate postmenopausal “hot flashes”. 1
    • If cut before it blooms, alfalfa is low in fiber and high in energy.
    • improves soil structure and condition, and controls weeds in subsequent crop rotations.
    • Alfalfa is a good source of protein, B-complex vitamins, and certain minerals, including calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, and potassium.
    • Alfalfa could help prevent fatigue associated with vitamin/mineral deficiency or protein energy malnutrition in disadvantaged parts of the world.
    • absorbs significant quantities of cholesterol. The direct interaction of saponins and cholesterol is thought to be responsible for the ability of alfalfa and other saponin-containing plant materials to reverse diet induced cholesterolemia in rats. Alfalfa saponins also interact with cholesterol found in intestinal cell membranes. This potentially alters cholesterol metabolism by interfering with intestinal absorption of cholesterol. 3
    • absorbs bile acids in the small intestine which then enter the large intestine and are eliminated along with steroids.  Since steroids normally facilitate cholesterol absorption, their elimination provides another possible mechanism to reverse or prevent cholesterolemia. 4

    Cloudy, throbbing, stuffed up?

When the leaves fall, do your airways constrict and sinuses congest?  Do your throbbing headaches prevent you from enjoying the fall colors?  I remember when my eyes would tear up so badly that a film would cloud my vision and cover my contact lenses.  It’d  make everything from driving to reading difficult.  So, I’d wear my glasses, wipe my eyes and hope for the best.  That is, until infection set in.

    The allergy whirlwind

    • clear, runny nose
    • cracking ears
    • sore throat
    • constricted airways
    • constricted sinus cavities
    • thicker mucas
    • cloudy vision
    • headache
    • neck ache
    • swollen glands
    • infection sets in
    • productivity & focus depletes
    • miserable

    Old, broken techniques

    Here’s what I used to do…

    • blow nose
    • wipe eyes
    • take allergy meds
    • sleep more
    • drink more water
    • eat comfort food (ie. chocolate malt ball ice-cream)
    • wear glasses instead of contacts
    • get antibiotics from my doctor
    • finish antibiotic cycle
    • two weeks later, get antibiotics again
    • all fall, winter and spring
    • summer was my only hope, untill ragweed blooming.  Arggghhh!

    Sound familiar?

Sing a new song.  “Free at last!”

I’ve learned some simple and effective techniques to help overcome and avoid this cumbersome cycle.   I hope they help you!

    • Raise the immune system so histamine isn’t produced when in contact with ‘allergens’.   How?
      • Energizing Soy Protein
      • Vitalizer
      • Nutriferon
    • Avoid sugar (which lowers the immune system and uses up antioxidants).
    • Distinguish acquired allergies from actual allergies; avoid actual allergens
    • Thin the mucas.  How?
      • alfalfa (thins mucas, reduces inflamation & raises immunity.)
      • What if you’re allergic to grasses?  Don’t worry, for most people Shaklee’s alfalfa isn’t allergy causing because we only use the leaves, not the stems of the plant.  Also, we only use mature alfalfa leaves so the root systems go deep into the soil.  Why is this important?  When you take our alfalfa, you get the trace minerals found deep within the earth which can raise your immunity.
      • Take acidophilus to thin intestinal mucas.  Much of the immune system effectiveness is in the intestine.
      • Hydrate with purified water to thin the mucas and avoid infection.
      • Avoid mucas producing foods like dairy.
    • If congested, irrigate the sinuses immediately.   This removes excessive thick mucas, kills infection and reduces inflamation.
    • Soothe sore throat with echanacea & zinc
    • Kill infection
    • Breathe clean air.

    Infection Relief

acidopholis, alfalfa, allergy, antibiotic, candida, candida overgrowth, cold, ear infection, flu, garlic, infection, inflamation, organic onion juice, sinus infection, stuffy head, virus, vitamin c, yeast

    NOTE:

To effectively kill infection, it’s important that the product you’re using:

    • has no contamination
    • is consistantly the same formulation
    • has enough active ingredient
    • is made with the most pure raw ingredients
    • is processed so the enzymes are still alive.

If these specifications aren’t met, the product won’t be strong enough to kill the infection.  All of our products exceed these specifications.

FIGHT INFECTION: virus, flu, cold, ear, sinus

Every 5 hours till infection is completely gone:

    • 5 garlic
    • 2 sustained release vita C (till loose stools, then back down to 3 a day till infection leaves)
    • 10 alfalfa
    • 3 TBS Energizing Soy Protein
    • 20 ounces purified water
    • irrigate sinuses (if needed)
    • organic onion juice drops in ear if infected  (This smells bad but often relieves the pain within 15 minutes.)

    ANTIBIOTIC WARNING

If you used an antibiotic, the good flora of the intestine will be destroyed.  Be sure to replenish the healthy flora (acidophilus) in intestine before the yeast (Candida) get overgrown.  Your choice of acidophilus is important because if it can’t arrive in your intestines alive, pass the hydrochloric acid of the stomach, it won’t help the body.  Shaklee’s patented ‘pearl coating’ ensures live flora get delivered to your intestine.

Candida overgrowth?  Test here.  (If you don’t include proper contact info, I won’t be able to send you your results.)

    SKIN INFECTION

    • Soak infected body part in 1 gallon water with 1/2 teas Basic G for 20 min as often as possible (1-3 times daily)
    • Rub area with antibacterial herbal cream
    • Strenthen immune system with Vivix

Med side effects – worse than the allergies?

    Really?

Each allergy stricken individual should concider the negative side effects of medication.  Often times, the side effects are worse than the original symptoms.   Here are some examples.

    • ANTIHISAMINES:  insomnia, drowsiness, tremors, nervousness, irritability, dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, rapid heartbeat, blurred vision
    • DECONGESTANTS:  restlessness, irritability, insomnia
    • STEROIDAL INHALANTS: glucocorticoid residue may supress immune defenses in mouth & throat, causing thrush due to yeast overgrowth, swallowed inhalant residues may be absorbed into bloodstream causing the same complications that occur when steroid drugs are taken orally
    • ALLERGY SHOTS: Dilluted allergens are shot into the bloodstream in hopes that the body will ‘learn’ to accept them  and stop producing antibodies in response to their presence.
    • SURGERY: A cutting instrument is thrust up the nasal cavities to remove excess bone, tissue and mucosal buildup.
